Pathways 3𝑥7

Writing this album was hard. I knew that I had pushed through some emotional breakthroughs when I created Afloat, probably my most personal work to date. While writing that album, I thought I was in the most vulnerable spot I've ever been in, until the time after that album came. I am used to the trials and tribulations. I am used to God testing me through extremely difficult obstacles, to see if I have what it takes to make it out on the other side, to see if I become a stronger person, to see if I'm worthy of my blessings. I became lost in a fog where there were so many paths to take. Nothing breaks the spirit more than false hope. I would be led down a path, convinced it was the one for me, only to find that it was not my destiny, so I'd be spit out at the end and suffering more than ever.  Then I decided. The darkness does not define me. I can light up the sky so damn bright. I don't want to live in a perfect fantasy. I can't live in a parallel universe. But I need, and deserve, love. I want to forget about the paths I've taken that led nowhere, but learning from a dead end opens your eyes to new paths. So I'm going to go forward on a path that I am generating myself. And I'm never looking back.

Pathways is my 21st studio album, to be released 3𝑥7 through Butterfly Records.
