Coyote Howl / Wounded

Well hello! The third set of singles from my 12th studio album Smoke + Mirrors will be "Coyote Howl" and "Wounded". "Coyote Howl" was produced by SBTRKT and is this really sexy and soulful track that we did together. I think it really fits the summertime and kind of identifies with some hits I've been hearing on the radio recently. "Wounded" feels like the complete opposite of "Coyote Howl". "Wounded" was produced by The Elephants, which I was very excited about working with them. They started playing around with their synths and this really gorgeous and lush synth pad hit me and I started singing along. I wrote it about my music leaking, actually. I felt it needed to be included because it was very real to me. I also knew I wanted to film a video for this one. I'm so glad the legendary Hype Williams directed this double video. He depicted exactly what I wanted, the transition from the night life to waking up the next morning and facing the pains of reality, in the most perfect way. The video premiered today exclusively on Vevo. "Coyote Howl" and "Wounded" will release physically and digitally this Friday.
