October: Cloud Living Half-Album Review

We got the exclusive opportunity (October loves us) to listen to 8 of 20 tracks from October's forthcoming album/film "Cloud Living".

In summary, they were amazing. We did write down notes for everyone, including never-before-seen lyrics, from the tracks. October enabled us to stream them only one time for each track, so we described how they sounded for all of you.

What if This is All a Dream? featuring Moby
- First single from the album
- Very peaceful
- Lots of background female voices
- Gets very high pitched, vocals are strengthened
- It's an ambient electronic track that suddenly turns into a dramatic techno track
- Lyrics "Time moved so quickly / Days flew by / Somehow you ended up here with me / The clouds said goodbye"
- Great 1st single, very different

Cloud Living featuring Maps
- Starts off slow
- Suddenly October's sharp vocals are belted out
- Maps dreamy-like charming voice compliments the song
- Chorus is sung together
- Second verse after chorus builds with drums
- Second chorus builds and different synths are added
- Maps and O start swapping lines
- October repeats the first verse with changed words
- Lyrics "Shooting for the sky / Dry out all my lies / And from this day on / We are cloud living"

A Long Road
- Emotional track
- Pianos and synths work together
- Chorus is powerful
- Love song
- Lyrics "Our bed is underwater / You like the ocean's warmth / Your arms shelter me / From all that can harm"
- Kind of a sad love song
- Vocals have clarity

Finding Purpose
- Has kind of an urban/Bollywood feel
- Breaks in the song have a vocalized melody
- Sounds like something Moby would put out
- Verses in the end have lower vocals
- Lyrics "Have I truly found purpose / Is this perfect / Did I earn it / I think I found purpose"
- High vocals used a lot
- Background vocals are used alike to first single
- Could be second single
- Great track
- No chorus

It's Only Just Begun
- AMAZING
- The next Miracle
- Track just shined out of the bunch for us
- Vocals are VERY strong
- Very dramatic drums
- Probably the greatest showcase of October's vocals
- Background vocals during 2nd verse are great add-ins
- Last verse ends, all goes silent, then the chorus comes blasting in
- Great build-up
- Lyrics "Send / Everyone / To watch the sun / Burn up my pain"
- Has to be a single, we'll die

Where I Belong
- Reminds me of iamamiwhoami's Rascal
- Chorus is simple yet structured
- Synths used in the song are soft yet they work and comprise greatly
- Sad lyrics
- Lyrics "This place is my home, where I feel true / Taken to a blank room where I feel new / I'm being split from where I belong"
- She's singing soft but you can tell the lyrics have meaning and they are strong feelings
- We would die if it wasn't a single

Who Do We Cry To
- Chorus is really cute
- She uses high but soft vocals
- Lyrics are sad
- Soft synths
- Chorus builds and gets stronger but then verses remain soft
- Ending verses build up
- Lyrics "Where the hell do you go / When there's no place to run / Who do we cry to / When there's no one"
- Emotional

We Fall
- Verses consist of a lot of words
- Very romantic
- She's speaking a boy she loves
- Piano, strings, and synths
- Verse at the end builds up
- Cuts to acapella of her singing for one line
- Lyrics "When you speak, I'm listening / Your every word is a symphony / When you're alone, I'm right here / Every day of every year / I look around, I bite my tongue / Damn, I'm so far in love / The taste of your breath is my high"
- Really cute song
